Date Posted: Sunday, August 30th, 2026

The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Saturday in Delmar.

On August 29, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a Kawasaki Ninja was traveling eastbound on Whitesville Road west of Robin Hood Road. At the same time, a Ford F-650 rollback truck was traveling in the same direction, followed a Dodge Dakota, west of Robin Hood Road. Both vehicles were traveling ahead of the motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle passed the Dakota in a no-passing zone and struck driver’s side of the rollback as it was making a left turn into a private driveway. Both the operator and passenger on the motorcycle were ejected.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 36-year-old woman from Delmar, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital where she died. An 11-year-old female passenger, also from Delmar, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their names are being withheld until their family is notified.

The driver of the F-650, a 19-year-old man from Laurel, Delaware, was not injured.

The roadway was closed for approximately 4 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
